Crops Suffering Because of Heavy Rainfall

By Alabama News Network

The amount of rain seen in June is causing problems for Alabama crops.

Alabama Farmer's Federation officials say rain is delaying wheat harvesting and is keeping some farmers from planting soybeans.

The rain also makes it harder for farmers to get fruits and vegetable crops to the market before they spoil.

Farming officials say that is also causing fungus to sprout on some melons.

Still, most farmers say even too much rain is better than too little.
