Crews search for missing boater in Greene County

EUTAW, Ala. (AP) - Rescue crews are planning to resume searching Wednesday for a missing boater in Greene County.

 

Authorities say

 that two boaters were fishing for shad Tuesday afternoon near the Lock 7 Dam, just south of Eutaw, when the boat they were in got sucked under the dam.

Authorities say one boater was able to escape, but the other remained missing early Wednesday.

 

Few other details were immediately available.

 

The area is about 35 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa.

His name is Chris Averette. He was found around 11 today. He did not make it.
