Covington County Chief Deputy David Anderson says a missing person report allowed them to identify a man found murdered last night.

Anderson says the body was found about 7:30 last night by a  hunter who had spotted an unfamiliar vehicle in the area earlier and went to investigate. Investigators were on the scene till about 2:00AM, and Anderson says an hour later relatives of a missing man called the sheriff s office. They supplied a description that allowed deputies to identify the victim as 47 year old Donnie Bone of the McKenzie community in Butler County.

Chief Anderson says a "person-of-interest" is in custody but has not been charged. He would not identify that person. A vehicle they had been looking for was also located and searched as part of the investigation.

The body has been sent to the Alabama Forensics Lab in Montgomery to determine the cause of death.
