Montgomery is getting closer to overtaking Birmingham as Alabama's largest city.
That's according to new population estimates.
The "Birmingham Business Journal" reports that Montgomery has added about 2,400 people in the past year.
That makes Montgomery's population more than 208,000 people.
Birmingham only added an estimated 176 people.
It's population is more than 212,000.
So while the Magic City is still bigger than the Capital City, that may not last for long.
Montgomery has closed the gap from 6,500 people to 4,200 people in just a year, although the difference is much larger if you compare metro areas.
