Chilton Co. Fatal Accident

Yesterday, a two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Verbena man.

80-year-old Vernon Evans was killed when his pickup truck collided with a sedan at the intersection of Chilton County 59 and Alabama 22.

The driver of the sedan, Jasmine Uribe, was injured in the accident along with her two children ages 4 and 2.

Uribe was airlifted by helicopter and taken to the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Both children were taken to Children's Hospital.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate this incident.
