Charges Filed In Butler Co. Murder

By Catalina Trivino

Murder charges have now been filed in the shooting death of a Greenville man.

Butler County Sheriff, Kenny Harden, says Barbara Wood is charged with killing 40-year-old, Steven Faulk. Wood is also charged with burglary and theft.

Harden says Friday, Wood entered a home and stole Faulk's fiance's purse. The shooting happened late Saturday night, just south of Greenville, where Faulk's body was found in the front yard of Wood's home on Pettibone Road.

"The information that we got is that there was a purse that was taken and the victim went to her house that night to get her purse back from her. And whenever the victim that was shot walked up to the door and knocked on the door, he was shot there in the doorway," Said Harden.

Wood is being held in the Butler County jail. No bond has been set.
