Several members of the Bloods street gang learn their fate in federal court, and in Elmore County, two men accused of separate murders are back in court.
Joshua Caspari was back in the Elmore County Court House today. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and mental defect. Caspari is accused of killing 20-year-old Anna Cardwell at her Holtville home in February.
His sister, Jessica Caspari, was arrested in June for trying to help her brother escape. She waived her arraignment on those charges.
Next on the docket: Jamie Slay. He's been charged with the murder of his girlfriend Patricia Allen, who was found dead in her home on Titus Road in March. Slay also waived his arraignment.
In Montgomery, members of the Bloods street gang that were involved in a rash of crimes in 2009 learned their fate in federal court.
Reco Daniels was sentenced to 1,822 months in prison. Courtney Wilson was sentenced to 984 months. Willie Tallie and Anthony Tallie will spend 78 months behind bars.
All were indicted last year on conspiracy, carjacking, robbery and firearms charges that took place in Prattville, Pike Road and Montgomery.
The fifth Bloods street gang member associated with those crimes is Damien Pierce. His sentencing was continued.
Jamie Slay's plea date is set for September 11.
