From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--  The winner of a city council race in Camden has yet to be determined after Tuesday's runoff election ends in a tie.

The race between councilwoman Alma King and former councilman Eli Mack is deadlocked.

Both candidates won the support of exactly half the voters in Tuesday's runoff election with 106 votes each.

The city will now look at provisional ballots to try and determine a winner.

"This tie it takes, it gives a whole new definition about the importance of voting, one vote does make a difference," said candidate Eli Mack.

If provisional ballots do not produce a winner- we're told by the Camden City Clerk that it would be up to the Camden City Council to appoint a winner.
