Butler Co. Manhunt Ends with the Suspect Taken into Custody

By Ashley Thompson

A five-hour, 10 mile manhunt in Butler County has ended with the suspect's capture.

Alabama News Network was there when Butler Co. Sheriff says Scott Braley was taken into custody, with a lot of cuts and bruises on his body.

The manhunt started when the Butler Co. Drug Task Force said it tried to pull Braley over because agents say he was driving a stolen car.

Instead of pulling over, Braley is accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase, before crashing his car and running into the woods near U.S. Highway 31, just south of Greenville.

Butler County deputies and Greenville police officers  searched using tracking dogs before finding him.
