A longtime staple in downtown Montgomery is closing up shop.
Boomer T's Barbeque is shutting down after a long battle to stay afloat.
With a heavy heart, Larry Strichik, owner of "Boomer T's" says goodbye to his faithful customers.
For the past 15 years he has served up barbeque in downtown Montgomery.
However, he says now it's time to go.
"It's hard to compete against downtown anymore. "Mom and Pop's" are a thing of the past. And I hate to say that, y'all, been in this business since '98. My wife and I have worked hard," said Strichik.
"Boomer T's" last day will be Friday, March first.
Strichik says he and his wife already have another barbeque opportunity set up outside of Montgomery.
