Body Found Off I-85 In Auburn

WLTZ - Authorities in Auburn say a body was found Tuesday morning in the woods off of I-85.

Police say the body was found in the woods near mile marker 49 in the northbound direction around 7 a.m.

Police say the victim is believed to be a 54-year-old man from Florida.

Police say his identity will not be released until family members are notified. Auburn police say the body was located approximately 25 feet from his vehicle which was parked on the shoulder of the northbound lanes.

The body has been transported to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, Alabama, for autopsy.

Police have not confirmed a manner of death. They do not believe foul play was involved.
