Bentley Signs Illegal Immigration Reform Bill into Law

With the stroke of a pen, Alabama joins the ranks of Arizona and others in cracking down on illegal immigration.
Governor Robert Bentley signed the immigration reform bill into law Thursday morning along with the bill's sponsors-and namesake, Senator Scott Beason and Representative Micky Hammon.
It’s called the “Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act and the governor says it's the toughest illegal immigration law in the nation.
Supporters say its strong not only for the reform it enacts, but because it's constitutional and will hold up in a court against any possible lawsuits.
“I do think it's important that we focus on the fact that this is an anti-illegal immigration bill, not an anti-immigration bill as some people have called it. Our concern is the number of illegal immigrants entering the state and taking jobs away from the people of Alabama,” said Senator Scott Beason, bill sponsor.
This bill authorizes law enforcement to ask about the immigration status of anyone they stop based on "reasonable suspicion.'
It also makes it illegal for anyone to knowingly rent housing to illegal immigrants and bans any illegal immigrant from enrolling in any public college after high school.
It is set to take effect September 1st.

I AM NOT SAYING DONT CLOSE THE BORDERS. I AM SAYING STOP THE IGNORANCE & HATE. Read this whos to blame for our economy, its NOT the POOR MIGRANTS. 300 BILLION$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ are not paid in taxes by USA CITIZENS, WHO CHEAT ON THEIR TAXES THAT's A TRILLION$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ EVERY 3.3YEARS. Its a Civil Matter. Kane County, Ill., Sheriff Patrick Perez said that "90 percent of law enforcement officers believe (just being an illegal immigrant) is a crime, but I learned after talking to an immigration judge that it is just a civil offense."
