From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The 148th Annual Battle of Selma Civil War Re-enactment is underway at Riverside Park in Selma.

The first two days of the four day event feature the Living History School Day tours.

Students visit different stations manned by re-enactors  who teach about and explain a different aspect of life during the Civil War.

The Battle of Selma features about a dozen separate events in all -- highlighted by two Civil War reenactments.
