MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The nation's top bass anglers are headed to Montgomery for four days of competition.

Montgomery is the fifth stop on the Bassmaster Elite Series. It will feature 100 fishermen competing from Thursday through Sunday, with weigh-ins along the riverfront downtown.

Montgomery's event coordinator, Denise Welch, estimates the competition will have a $2 million economic impact, including food, lodging and other tourist activities.

Chamber of Commerce official Dawn Hathcock says

that the event will also give Montgomery national media exposure, including ESPN2 and ESPN Classic.
