Byrd was one of my best officer's. My short time on the shift I learned to know him. One of the last memories of him was just last night as we were getting ready to leave, he came past the third gate with the biggest smile on his face singing a song from the Beetles. People dont realize that the decisions that they make in life has a big impact on others and their families. My prayers go out to Officer Byrd and his family. His ADOC brother's at Draper will miss him greatly.

This is really sad. Kyle, as I know him, is a really good guy. He takes everything to heart and I know this is gonna devastate him. I hate this so bad for him.... But Chris also will never be coming back. It's sad to know they were friends. It's really a small world. If things do work out for Kyle, I know this will make him reconsider his life and where he was heading. That could have been him but he was lucky to receive another shot at life and Chris didn't. I hate this so bad for both families.
