Auburn Confident In Chizik Firing, Looking Forward to Future

By Kirk Nawrotzky

Auburn fired head coach Gene Chizik less than 24 hours after their Iron Bowl loss to Alabama.

Athletic director Jay Jacobs stated that a 3 and 9 season is unacceptable.

In four seasons Chizik was 33-19, including a perfect 14-0 season in 2010 and the BCS National Championship.

A coaching search has already begun with a search committee of Jacobs, Mac Crawford, Pat Sullivan, and Bo Jackson.
