Authorities in Tuskegee says a 22 year old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Tuskegee University student last weekend.

Mayor Johnny Ford credits multiple Federal and state law enforcement agencies with arresting Kentavious Holland. He says Holland is in the Macon County jail.

Student Bobby J. Smith was killed by gunfire at a block party Saturday night. A gunman fired shots into the air, and then into the crowd, and Smith was hit in the back and died.

Ford says anyone wanting to put on a party like the one Saturday night will be required to notify the city manager. He says that will allow the city to plan for proper security.

Tuskegee officials are holding a news conference this morning. Watch the Alabama News Network news at Noon for a complete report.
