Andalusia Police Search for Esacped Inmate

By Alabama News Network

Authorities are searching for an inmate they say escaped from the Covington County jail last night.

Police are searching for Zachary Chambers.

Police say he had been given "trustee" status and was assigned to the police department for less than a week before executing his escape plan.

Officials say he got away with help from Topeka Bryant who has been arrested for her part in the escape.

Authorities have searched houses around Andalusia for him, but have not found Chambers.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Andalusia police department at (334) 222-1155.
