The Spring Break travel season is almost here.
With the theme of "Sweet Home Alabama and an invitation to come taste our good food and friendliness, the state's tourism campaign seems to be working.
"We're on pace this year to have the strongest tourism year in our history. Last year was a record year. The year before that was a record year. So we are continuing to build each year. Beach is very strong, the beach is back. The fact that BP is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in TV commercials about our gulf coasts and our sister states is very helpful," said Director of Alabama Tourism, Lee Sentell.
If you are looking for your own road trip either for a day, weekend, or a whole week and you're not sure what to do, the Alabama Travel website already has up to 50 tours written for you.
"We're telling people where to go, where to stay, where to eat, so it's just sort of a no-brainer because we've already tested all these programs out," said Sentell.
