Alabama Teachers May Get Pay Raise in 2013-2014 School Year

Alabama's Legislative Session may be months away, but it could bring good news for school teachers.
 
Alabama teachers haven't had a pay raise or cost of living increase in the past four years, but that may all change because Alabama Superintendent of Education Tommy Bice says he's seeking raises for K-12 employees in next year's budget.
 
According to The Tuscaloosa News, Bice's proposed budget for the 2013-2014 school year gives teachers about a one-percent pay raise.
 
This comes after Governor Robert Bentley announced last week that he'll consider raises for teachers and support personnel.
