Mayors Across the State in Montgomery for League of Municipalities Conference

By Heather VacLav

Mayors from across Alabama are in Montgomery to network, share ideas, and even develop plans to take back to their cities.
Leaders were part of the Alabama League of Municipalities Conference. Hosted at the Union Station Train Shed downtown, it kicked off with a circus-themed big top welcome reception, featuring performances by Cirque du Soliel singer Marie Eve Tremblay and the Absolute Roustabouts.
Governor Robert Bentley was the keynote speaker for the opening ceremony. His message praised local leaders, and explained the importance behind creating jobs across the state.
The convention continues through Tuesday.
