UPDATE: Abbeville Teen Dies From Injuries Received in Friday's Vehicle Crash
An Abbeville teen has died from injuries he received in a single-vehicle crash February 11.
Quintavious Ladon Sampson, 17, of Abbeville died Tuesday at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.
Sampson was involved in a single-vehicle crash this past Friday on Henry County 107 south of the Abbeville city limits.
Initial investigation indicates that Sampson was a passenger in a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Cordarius Savon King, 17, of Abbeville. King was traveling south on Henry County 107 when his vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a tree.
King and passenger Siran Neal were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released, while Sampson was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
None of the teens was wearing a seat belt.
The crash is being investigated by the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Alabama State Troopers. Once the investigation is completed, the facts of the case will be presented to the Houston-Henry County district attorney, who will present the case to the grand jury (18 citizens from that county).
