AUM Watch Party Goes Pink for American Idol Contestant Jess Meuse

By Ellis Eskew

Students and staff came to the AUM Taylor Center to watch American Idol. First, they had to get some pink in their hair to match their favorite contestant Jess Meuse.

"Curtis" the Warhawk had some pink as well. Jess took to the stage singing and the judges were mostly positive. One of Jess' best friends who was with her at the Atlanta auditions says Jess is going all the way.

"She has the passion, the endurance, and the stamina, smart, beautiful, creative as all get out. That's the biggest point and I think she's going to win it," said Christin Haynes.

Jess attended AUM as a liberal arts major. Her former professor said she's very proud of her.

"I sent out emails to all the people who were in our class together and all the majors in Communication and Dramatic Arts coordinating this party that is campus-wide tonight. Really excited about this," said Val Winkelman.

Her fellow AUM classmates agree she did a great job.

"I think she is awesome. Just listening to her right now, great singer. I'm surprised she's gone this far," said Shae Emerton.
