ASU Hosts Teacher Career Fair
Alabama State University is making the transition from college to the work force easier for its students.
Friday, the school hosted a teacher job fair where more than 40 hiring school districts were in attendance.
Students were able to ask questions, learn more about the different districts, and some even had mini-interviews.
They say it’s a great way to get a foot in the door with prospective employers.
“To submit my resume and just to present myself in a very professional way so they will want to pick me up at the end of the school term to teach at their school,” said Yolanda Murphy, student.
“We're receiving advice and also what their expectations are of teachers so we can better prepare ourselves to go out and get those jobs,” said Ricky Reynolds, student.
Participating school systems included representatives from Alabama, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Mississippi and Michigan.
