Montgomery has won a five year agreement to host several Alabama High School Athletic Association events.
The events include the Summer Conference and All Star Sports Week, baseball, football, tennis and volleyball tournaments.
Some of the events have been played here before.
City officials say the events will have a $8 million impact.
Local businesses like Bandana's Restaurant is hoping to get a taste of the profits.
"It's a win for the restaurant. The more people you have coming downtown, they're going to spend money. They're going to come eat in the downtown area and other places. It's awesome! It's going to be great!" says server Stacey Keel.
The city will have to pay a host-fee of $170,000 a year as part of the deal.
Six other cities including Hoover and Birmingham applied to host the events.
