Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange is praising the state's new "anti-smurfing" law, aimed at combating meth production.
Strange, along with the Alabama Drug Task Abuse Task Force, joined together to announce the launch of a major public awareness campaign for the new law.
The "anti-smurfing" campaign promotes awareness that smurfing - or buying small amounts of pseudoephedrine from several different locations to cook meth - is a felony crime.
The new law is considered one of the toughest in the nation.
