Tallassee Teen Dies in Single Car Crash

A Tallassee teenager died in an early morning car crash Sunday.

18-year old Joseph Ryan Thornton was killed after his 2008 Toyota Scion left the roadway and wrapped around a tree in Elmore County.

Alabama State Troopers say the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Central Road, about five miles northwest of Eclectic.
 
Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
