ATLANTA (WNCF) - The man who tried to abduct a Montgomery girl on Easter Sunday has committed suicide in Atlanta.

42-Year-Old James Scott Carringer was killed in a standoff Thursday after he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old Kennesaw State University student.

Montgomery police confirmed Carringer as the suspect in the incident, something many had suspected for weeks.

The 10-year-old Montgomery girl was unharmed in the incident, which was caught on videotape.
