Mayor Convicted of DUI, Avoids Ouster

UNION SPRINGS (WNCF) – Union Springs mayor John McGowan was found guilty Wednesday of DUI.

The mayor, however, was found not guilty on obstruction of justice charges at the Bullock County Courthouse.

The DUI conviction is a misdemeanor, so McGowan cannot be removed from office.
