Study: Montgomery Fattest Metro Area

MONTGOMERY (WNCF) – A new study says that the Montgomery metro area is the fattest in the United States.

A study from Gallup and Healthways found that the city area has an obesity rate of 34.6%. That number is tied for the highest with Stockton, California among the 185 metropolitan areas surveyed.

The study also ranked Montgomery near the bottom of categories that included the number of residents with health insurance and access to safe places to exercise.
