Senate Passes $1 BIL Road Bill

By WNCF Staff

MONTGOMERY (WNCF) – The Alabama Senate passed a $1 billion bill Thursday to help improve roads and bridges throughout the state.

The bill, which had failed in numerous previous attempts, passed by a vote of 25 to 10.

Republicans have concerns over taking the funds from the stat’s oil and gas trust fund, but Democrats say the bill will create jobs and economic growth.

The bill must still be approved by both the House and voters.
