State Unemployment Over 11%

MONTGOMERY (WNCF) – Alabama’s unemployment is at its highest figure in 26 years.

The rate has risen to 11.1%, according to numbers released by the state’s Department of Industrial Relations Wednesday.

The last time employment was this high in Alabama was January of 1984.
The rate represents more than 228,000 people.
