Captain Sully to be Honored in Hunstville

HUNTSVILLE (WNCF) - Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger will be honored in Huntsville in August. Sullenberger is famous for his heroic effort in landing US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after being struck by a bird.

The Congressional Meal of Honor Foundation will present Captain Sully with the American Spirit Award August 28 at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration in Hunstville.

Sullenberger recently retired after serving in the US Air Force before becoming a commercial pilot in 1980.
