Mayor Charged w/ Embezzlement

TUSCALOOSA (WNCF) – The Tuscaloosa DA has charged an Alabama mayor with embezzlement.

Mayor Eddie J. Woods of Forkland is accused of stealing nearly $20,000 from the Alabama Conference of Black Mayors by forging 23 separate checks.

The 38-year-old was arrested Wednesday and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
