Congressmen to Remember Bloody Sunday

SELMA (WNCF) – Several prominent members of Congress will be in Selma next weekend for the 45th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, who was beaten on the bridge in 1965, is serving again as chairman of the Congressional Civil Rights Pilgrimage.

He’ll be joined by Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, and Indiana Rep. Mike Pence.

The group will participate numerous events from March 5th through the 7th.
