New Marker to Honor Rosa Parks

By WNCF Staff

MONTGOMERY (WNCF) – A new historic marker in Montgomery will honor civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

The marker will be placed on Dexter Avenue in Montgomery’s Court Square.

It will be erected on the exact spot in which Parks boarded the Montgomery bus that led to her arrest on December 1, 1955. Of course, she would go on to become a worldwide symbol of the civil rights movement.

The marker will be dedicated next Wednesday, February 24th, at 4 PM.
