Juvenile Arrested in Hotel Talisi Fire

In our big story tonight… Police have made an arrest in a Tallassee fire that destroyed a historic hotel.

A juvenile whose name and age has not been released is accused of burning down the 81-year old Hotel Talisi early Monday morning.

Approximately 120 firefighters arrived at the scene beginning at 3:30 AM to find the structure completely engulfed in flames.

Tallassee Mayor George McCain called the loss of the hotel “devastating”.

The three-story building was widely-known for its southern-style buffet, which had been a long-time staple of the hotel.
