Lee HS Bus Lawsuit Dismissed

By Adam Bagni

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the designers and builders of the Interstate 565 bridge that was the site of a fatal Lee High School bus crash in 2006 that killed four students and injured 25.

The judge cited a lack of timeliness and fairness.

Doug Fees, the attorney representing a number of Lee students and their families, said he will appeal the ruling to the Alabama Supreme Court.

Fees' lawsuit argues that the bridge was not designed and built properly to withstand impact with the bus and keep it from going over the barrier.
