Wetumpka Teen Killed in Car Accident

By Adam Bagni

A Wetumpka teenager was killed in a car accident this morning while traveling northbound on Jasmine Hill Road.

According to the Advertiser, 16-year old Cristian Phillips, received fatal injuries after his 1998 Grand Prix left the roadway and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.

A spokeswoman for The Alabama State Troopers said it is too early to determine the cause of the one- car accident, but added that the case is still under investigation.

Preliminary reports reveal that the air bags deployed and that Phillips was wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident.
