Gov. Bentley GOP Front Runner for 2014 Governor's Race

By Alabama News Network

Governor Bentley was once the dark horse in 2010, but now members of the GOP say he's the front runner.

So far, only former Morgan County Commissioner Stacy Lee George has announced his GOP candidacy.

Other prominent GOP members say they don't plan to run, that includes Lieutenant governor Kay Ivey, House Speaker Mike Hubbard, Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh and former Gov. Bob Riley.

But the 2010 GOP runner up, former two-year college chancellor Bradley Byrne, says he's still making up his mind.

Del Marsh expects Bentley to get re-elected because he says the economy is improving and there is no cry for change.
