UPDATE:Wetumpka Boy Battling Incurable Disease Receives Bone Marrow Transplant
An update from a story Alabama News Network has been following closely: The 12-year-old Wetumpka boy who is battling an incurable disease received a bone marrow transplant today.
Dawson Parker and his family are in a children's hospital in Minnesota where Dawson has been undergoing chemotherapy for the last week.
Dawson, who has fanconi anemia, started the transplant a half an hour ago, but there is a 15 percent chance that his body will reject the cells or he will face complications.
Doctors tell Dawson that the next twenty days will be the worst.
