Funerals Held For Two Shooting Victims
One week after shots rang out at Centennial Hill bar and Grill in Montgomery, killing three and wounding five others, family and friends gathered to say goodbye to Kimberle Johnson and Glenn "Doe B" Thomas.
Both Johnson and Thomas' funerals were held at the True Divine Baptist Church. Emotions were high, but the two services were also celebrations of life.
Johnson was just 21 years old. She was studying at Troy University to become a social worker.
Glenn Thomas, a Montgomery native broke into the music industry signing with rapper TI in 2012.
Kayla Vines, friend of Kimberle Johnson said, "I'm hoping that what will come out not just a movement but also to people to wake up and realize that this is not a game....There's too many mothers and fathers out here that are burying children instead of going to graduations or weddings or things like that. So we need to just stop the violence."
Glenn Thomas leaves behind two daughters and a fiance. Kimberle Johnson's classmates are planning a vigil for her on the Troy University campus next week.
