The sights, sounds, and smells of baseball are in the air at Riverwalk Stadium.

Despite the cold rain, fans huddled under cover ready to cheer on Alabama and Auburn on the field.

"Come every year. We love it. Rain or shine.. If it was snowing I'd still be here!" said Auburn fan Patricia Bell.

For some, this is their first one.

"This is the first classic we've been to. We're hoping to bring some good luck," said Alabama fan Greg Locklier.

Luck that several Alabama fans say they hope to bring as well.

"Rain or shine. Hopefully to see Alabama break the streak Auburn's had for the last 5 times, so coming until we break it," said Jason Bowen.

Collin Fulmer says, "they have a chance. It's anybody's game, it can happen, anything."

Unfortunately, the Tuesday night game was called off for the night and postponed until Wednesday.
Even though it is a loss on the field, some say it still could be a win for the city.

"The weather has been a little inclement but perhaps some of these folks need a place to stay tonight and that would be great if they are staying in Montgomery and having a meal here they would not have otherwise," said Meg Lewis with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.

The Capital City Classic is postponed until Wednesday, March 5 at 7:05pm.

Tickets for Tuesday's game will be honored for Wednesday's game.
