Hospital Offers da Vinci Surgery

By Lisa Blackwell

A medical center in Alexander City now offers some of the latest in surgery technology.

Russell Medical Center unveiled its new da Vinci robotic surgery system.

The da Vinci allows doctors to perform less invasive procedures including prostate surgery, hysterectomies, removal of uterine fibroids, and colorectal surgery.

Russell’s new unit has dual consoles which allow surgeons to work together.

The device gives doctors 3D HD views and greater surgical precision which means faster healing times for patients.

Russell Medical Center is the first facility in a rural community statewide to offer this new technology.
