Why Should Women Get Yearly Mammograms?

Women who have mammograms every year have a better chance of detecting breast cancer before it has a chance to spread.   

Researchers at Northwestern University found women who had  frequent exams showed a significantly lower rate of cancer cells in the lymph nodes. 

The American Cancer Society recommends annual breast cancer screening beginning at age 40, but the US preventive Services Task Force recommends screenings every two years starting at  age 50.
