Researchers in Italy are experimenting with focused ultrasound to heat and destroy breast tumors.

The technique uses magnetic resonance imaging to locate the lesions and monitor temperature change during the procedure. 

It does not require any incision.

Researchers say more study is needed before it can be used as a stand-alone treatment for breast cancer.
