More Kids Taking Medications for Depression, ADHD

A new survey finds more than 6 percent of U.S. adolescents used drugs to treat psychiatric or mental disorders from  2005-2010. 

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found use of antidepressants and ADHD drugs was highest and that males were more likely to use ADHD drugs. 

About half the adolescents who reported using psychotropic drugs had seen a mental health professional in the last year.
