Mike Doyle joined Alabama News Network in January 2014. You can catch him weekend evenings on CBS 8 and ABC Montgomery.
Mike was born in Horsham, Pennsylvania, and was always fascinated with the weather. In high school, he flew Cessna airplanes and was going for his private pilot license between school and soccer practice.
He ran out of time during the summer to complete his private pilot license as he moved to Daytona Beach, Florida. He plans on finishing his private pilot license requirements soon.
Mike attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Meteorology. While there, he played a lot of intramural sports with his friends and became Theta Phi Alpha's Sapphire Man. His job as Sapphire Man was to help the sorority out anyway he can with recruiting and philanthropy. He made them dinners and desserts every Monday for their chapter night. He really enjoyed being Sapphire Man and says it is one of his best decisions he ever made.
The Summer of 2012, Mike had had his first Meteorology internship at WTXF Fox 29 in Philadelphia. He knew he was always fascinated by weather, but this internship made him realize that he loved weather and wanted to become a broadcast meteorologist.
Before coming to Montgomery, Mike worked part time in Macon, Georgia at WGXA FOX 24 & ABC 16 during the 2013 holiday season.
When he is not following the weather, Mike is hanging out with his friends and following his Philadelphia sports teams. Also, he enjoys the outdoors -- fishing, hunting, sports and working out.
