Sarah Cantey

Sarah Cantey joins Alabama News Network as a reporter in the Troy Newsroom, covering Pike and Bullock counties. Prior to coming aboard in August 2013, she worked down the road at WTVY as the Dale/Henry County reporter. Sarah made the Wiregrass her new home in February 2013 after working as a digital producer for Tucson News Now, the collaborative news station for the CBS and Fox affiliates of Southern Arizona. While in Tucson, Sarah worked extensively on the coverage for two national stories; the case of a 6-year-old abduction and the sentencing of Jared Loughner for the shooting involving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Sarah graduated from the University of Arizona with a dual degree in Journalism and Dance. She spent much of her life as a dancer and she still moves to the beat of her own drum. She enjoys country music, going on runs, catching up with friends and spending time with family. She has a dog named Skyla, a half labrador/half golden retriever who she raised as a guide dog (but turns out being a pet was her calling). Sarah loves to meet new people so feel free to contact her with story ideas or just to say hello!
